Hindus have congratulated Anglican Communion and Archbishop of Canterbury for organizing the historic Lambeth Walk yesterday in London to eradicate worldwide poverty and urged other religions and denominations to tackle poverty urgently.

Acclaimed Hindu leader Rajan Zed, who is president of Universal Society of Hinduism, in a statement in USA today, said that all religious leaders should also persuade those in power to work for ending starvation permanently. Religions and those in power should work side by side to set a network for education and healthcare for poorest communities across the globe and come up with lasting solutions.

One of the goals of religion was to see the humankind flourish and in addition to prayer, the religions should come out and directly serve the marginalized, Zed added.
