I do volunteer work at, answering questions in several categories. One of the more interesting questions appeared the other day. It’s about the idea of spiritual attack.

The modern mind tends to explain negative spiritual dynamics in terms of hallucinations and, perhaps, mental illness. But it seems a more fruitful approach combines the theological belief in spiritual attack – which clinical psychology and psychiatry tend to overlook – with knowledge gleaned from psychology and psychiatry.
