Sad to hear it took this long to discover the problem. Poor little one shouldn’t have gone through that for that long.

Yes. What also concerns me is the number of doctors who weren’t thorough enough. If the parents had not persisted, the battery would have probably leaked and…
I don’t know who is regulating things these days. Blaming something like that on cutbacks is imo a cop out. Luckily i,ve been in Toronto, on and off, since 1962 (born in Toronto General Hospital). So when our first family doctor passed on, he referred our family to another one who really is excellent. But not everyone has that kind of experience. Good thing the parents were persistent. Can you imagine if they were not?
