EP Today – Fake News stories themselves are fake news

I’m glad that someone has, at least, partially addressed this. I haven’t been posting about “fake news” because I feel most of the stories, themselves, are superficial and misleading. That is… fake.

Why?

A little bit of history tells us that people have always been fibbing, omitting details and manipulating truth for personal gain and to avoid repercussions.

Remember when ancient Rome burnt down? The crazed and cruel Nero – whom many think was responsible for the blaze – blamed that on the early Christian community. Or how about when British PM Chamberlain signed a 1938 Munich peace treaty with Germany? Hitler clearly had no intention of honoring that.

More recently, have we forgotten Watergate or the Clinton/Lewinsky scandal?

“I want to say one thing to the American people. I want you to listen to me. I’m going to say this again: I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky” – Bill Clinton, 1998.

This notion that we’ve suddenly fallen into a postmodern age of false ideology and lies is a joke. It’s an insult to our intelligence. Lies are everywhere. They are in what is said and in what is not said. And it has always been that way.

What’s really alarming is that so many people buy into these fake news stories about “fake news.”

A special message to GRAVATAR users

There are so many interesting people that I want to check out but they don’t take the time to add their blog, website or social media link at their GRAVATAR page. Do you really expect me to search thru Google looking for your moniker when so many others often use the same or a similar one?

Please add the link(s). The web is supposed to be fast and easy, not a hassle!

Today’s Top Tweet – I’m no dark web wizard but…

I’m no dark web wizard but if the CIA’s claims are definitively true, why don’t they just post their data on the web for all to see? Surely there are enough independent and capable tech wiz’s to assess whatever traces, links etc. they have unearthed.

By way of analogy, if a surveillance camera captures footage of a criminal, the police usually have no hesitation releasing this info to the media. So what’s going on with the Russia allegations?

Today’s Top Tweet – How widespread is cowardly stalking?

They send you Christmas cards that go straight to the recycle bin. You’re excessively polite with them because you don’t know what they’ll do if you upset their imbalanced minds. They’re loners who can’t make it with people. But they can hack into your social media, email, whatever.

They’re a different kind of stalker. Disturbed cowards that don’t do anything in public for all to see. But behind the scenes, they’re watching your every electronic move… literally addicted to you in the worst possible way.

Selfish and self-centered, they never stop to think that maybe you’re onto them. And that it is disturbing to be spied on… not to mention illegal.

They don’t get the psychiatric help they need. They have no problem… As long as they can lurk in the shadows and live out their empty existence by looking at others from the outside. Always from the outside…

Paranoid dystopian future or realistic portrayal of what can happen right now?

Until legally busted, like in this tweeted example, we cannot know. But sometimes my gut makes me wonder. As the old saying goes, truth is often stranger than fiction.

In an odd twist of fate, the Scarlet Letter is now “T”

If you haven’t read The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne you probably won’t know what the heck I’m talking about. It’s a classic American novel.

Clinton forgave her husband when it paid off for her..?

Again, I want to stress that I am a Canadian and have a disinterested interest in the US Elections.

Last night Hillary Clinton tweeted “This is horrific. We cannot allow this man to become president.”

Isn’t this a bit hypocritical and sanctimonious considering her husband was caught having sex with someone less than half his age, lied about it, and HC forgave him and went along with his not being impeached as President?

I can’t stand holier than thou posers. That’s one thing that really turns me off.
